FAQs

Jash, Expat | Digital Nomad

How old are you?

25 years young.

Where are you originally from?

Born and raised in Hamden, Connecticut. Never home, but always reppin'.

Did you go to college?

Sure did. I chose to go 16 hours away from home to attend THEE Tuskegee University. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, but aside from internships in undergrad, I have never worked in my field.

Where are you currently?

Montreal, Canada.

What do you do?

I am a full time digital nomad and I work as a freelancer doing a bunch of different things. While transitioning into remote work I tried a bunch of different jobs to gain experience and clients to make this move. Now, I primarily do work in virtual assistance and social media management.

How do you afford to travel so much?

I make it a priority and I slow travel. When I'm thinking about my finances and how I want to spend my money travel is high on the list.

There are so many ways to travel for the low and slow traveling is one of the best. Being able to fully immerse in another country, language, and way of life is a top tier experience that can help you save some coins.

It’s also good for the budget because you can learn more about what things actually cost, not the inflated tourist costs. Plus, you can save on accommodations with long term stay discounts or even getting an apartment.

Look, I got a free upgrade to first class once and that was my first and last first class experience. I’ve sat in the very last row on several occasions, but guess what. I got to my destination just fine. I’ve carried all my shit on my back to avoid checked bag fees. From budget airlines to hostels… Imma take these trips no matter what.

Can you help me move abroad/travel?

Of course! That's what I'm here for. My platform is not a come watch me travel, but a come JOIN me traveling. My blog has resources, tips and advice on living abroad, teaching abroad, solo traveling, and more!

You'll also be able to virtually meet with me one-on-one soon so stay tuned! Until then, you can send me a message here or hit my DMs on Instagram and TikTok!
