How I Ended Up Working at Columbia University

⚡️STORY TIME⚡️

Before coming back to Haiti I was working at Columbia University. I can't make this shit up.

You know that saying, “It’s not WHAT you know, but WHO you know”? Yeah, that statement has been true in my life on several occasions and this is one of them.

I got this text on a Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning I was on the 5am train to the Big Apple 🚇 Life literally comes at you so fucking fast. In less than 24 hours I was an employee of Columbia University.

My employment lasted all of six days, but I learned a lot. One of my major takeaways was that commuting is not for me 😂 I really don’t know how y’all do it. I literally spent more time commuting than actually working. Cars, trains, Lyfts, walking, and buses were all part of my DAILY commute to and from Columbia.

I live my life by following opportunities, constantly saying yes and not being afraid to go outside my comfort zone. I had never used their online platform, didn’t know what the program was about and just showed up. I learned along the way and SHOWED OUT. Who knows… Maybe I’ll be back at Columbia again next summer 😉

Just because I’m nosey… Drop your commute time to work ⏰
