My 3 Week Sabbatical

Updated: Apr 18, 2021

My 3 Week Sabbatical

I worked for one year and honestly I don’t know how y’all do it. When I say my three week sabbatical was more than needed I’m not playing. Working five days a week and only having two days of rest is truly a scam. This cannot be the next 40 years of my life.

I am a huge advocate for taking time to reset, relax, and realign. My time in between finishing my contract in Korea and beginning my new contract here in Haiti was essential. Being able to focus on myself, my platform, myself, my relationships, myself, and myself, was more than needed. Working nonstop until 67 is not something I plan to do. You will not find me in the rat race to retirement.

Not having significant time to focus on things outside of work is unacceptable. During my three week sabbatical I was able to write, create, and connect more than I would’ve been able to in three months while working a full-time job. Joyriding With Jash is my passion project and deserves more of my undivided focus and attention. I was able to wake up every day excited to create content and develop my platform.

Taking three weeks off of work may not be feasible for everyone, but if you can I highly recommend it. Being able to decide what you do and when you do it without outside influences will show you what you really care about. I used my three weeks to work on my brand, make home cooked meals, reconnect with friends and family, binge watch TV, eat food I can't get abroad and prepare for my next adventure. Using my "in between time" for me was one of the the best decisions I've made.

What would you do on a sabbatical from work 👀
